Bangladesh Border Officials Evict 160 Rohingya people

DHAKA - Bangladesh border authorities refused Rohingya approximately 160 people who want to enter Bangladesh. Rohingyas fled from Myanmar due to escalating communal conflict.

One officer Mohammad Khalequzzaman Bangladesh border said the Rohingya trying to cross the border into the village of Ukhia. They also hinder the Rohingya forced to enter the territory.

"Border authorities to repatriate more than 160 Rohingyas who crossed the border since October 21, when the conflict between Buddhists and Muslims occurred in Arakan," said Khalequzzaman, told AFP on Wednesday (10/31/2012).

"We send her this afternoon, after we gave him food. They in good shape, no sick or injured," he added.

Similar action was also conducted by the Bangladesh border last June, when ethnic Rohingya and Arakan began to feud. They refused to enter the 16 Rohingya boat ride. Most of the residents are women and children.

New conflicts that occur between the Rohingya and Arakan ethnic killing 89 people. Thousands more were forced to flee from their homes because of the threat of the bloody conflict.
