Turkey Supports Palestinian Join the International Organization

RAMALLAH - Turkey will support Palestinians who are currently recognized as a non-member observer state of the United Nations (UN) to join international organizations. The organization in question is that there are bodies in the United Nations.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said Turkey offered the Palestinians a special team in the field of law and politics that will provide input for the Palestinians to join the 16 UN agencies. The team will also help the Palestinians signed 31 international treaties.

However, Maliki reiterated that the Palestinian National Authority will not be in a hurry to join UN agencies. Palestinians also want to avoid certain adverse reactions arise when the international Palestine join in one of the UN agency.

"There is a threat when we joined in several UN agencies," Maliki said, referring to the plan grant from the United States (U.S.) to UNESCO, told Xinhua on Thursday (13/12/2012).

In November, the UN General Assembly inaugurated the new state of Palestine as a non-UN member states. Palestinians successfully received the support of 138 countries, but Israel and the U.S. outraged at it.

With its new status, the Palestinians can join the International Criminal Court (ICC) and indict Israel for his crimes. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also said that if Israel continues building projects in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the Palestinians would not hesitate to move to the ICC.
