Elephant smart whiz Speak Korean


 
SEOUL - An elephant at Everland Zoo in South Korea (ROK) to mimic a few words in Korean with its trunk. 

Its unique ability that makes a lot of researchers interested in studying the elephant named Koshik.

In a report issued by a team of biologists, Koshik can at least say 5 words in Korean. Words could say they are "annyeong" which means hello, "anja" meaning seat) "Aniya" which means no, "nuwo" or lying, and "joa" means good.

Officers at the zoo said that koshk can imitate the word "ajik" (yet). However, the research team can not confirm it. So reported the Telegraph, Sunday (11/04/2012).

One of the experts who participated researching mention there is no valid evidence that Koshik understand the meaning of the words that can ditirukannya, although elephants can respond when they hear the word "anja".

Mimicking the sound be unusual for some animals, especially birds such as the parrot and myna birds. But what do Koshik different birds as he mimicked the sound and not the vocal cords, but with its trunk.

It is believed that Koshik trying to imitate the human voice so that he can have a bond with his coach. Koshik currently 22-year-old has parted ways with the other elephants since the age of 5 years.

Koshik the star of Everland zoo since 2006 after the zoo said publicly that he can imitate Korean. Name Koshik also reached Austria biologist Angela Stoeger-Howarth and Daniel Mietchen German biologist, who later examined Koshik in 2010.
